1. About these terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of the MoCase website and matching service (the “Platform”). By using the Platform you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. What MoCase is — and is not
MoCase is a technology platform, not a law firm. We connect users with independent legal professionals. We do not practise law, we do not provide legal advice or representation, and no lawyer–client relationship is created between you and MoCase at any point.
A lawyer–client relationship arises only between you and the independent barrister or attorney you engage, on the terms you agree directly with them.
3. Our service
We review the request you submit and seek to connect you with one or more independent legal professionals whose expertise and fee structure appear suited to your matter. We aim to do so in 24 to 48 hours or less, but we do not guarantee any particular response time, match, or outcome.
4. No fee to you
Our matching service is provided free of charge to users. You are responsible only for the legal fees you agree directly with the legal professional you choose to engage. Those fees are set solely by that professional and are outside MoCase's control.
5. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate, complete and truthful information in your request.
- Do not submit passwords, full financial account credentials, or unnecessary sensitive information.
- Do not use the Platform for any unlawful, abusive or fraudulent purpose.
- Do not submit content that infringes the rights of any third party.
- Satisfy yourself as to the suitability, qualifications and fees of any professional before engaging them.
6. Independent professionals
Legal professionals on our network are independent practitioners, not employees or agents of MoCase. While we take reasonable steps to work only with registered and qualified practitioners, MoCase is not responsible for the advice, conduct, fees, service quality, or outcomes delivered by any professional. Any dispute arising from that engagement is between you and that professional.
7. Applying to join the network
These terms also apply to barristers, attorneys, notaries and firms who apply to join our network through the Register with Us form.
- You confirm that you are currently registered and in good standing to practise in Mauritius, and that the information and CV you submit are accurate and your own.
- We verify applications and may decline any application, or remove a professional from the network, at our discretion. Submitting an application does not create any agreement, partnership, employment or joint venture between you and MoCase.
- Joining the network is free. MoCase takes no commission, referral fee or share of the fees you agree with a client.
- You remain wholly independent. You are solely responsible for the advice you give, the fees you set, your professional indemnity insurance, your client-care and conflict-checking obligations, and your compliance with the rules of your professional body.
- Enquiries are shared with you in confidence. You must treat the details of any enquiry as confidential and use them only to decide whether to act and, if instructed, to act in that matter.
- Either you or MoCase may end your participation in the network at any time, with no notice required and no fee due on either side.

8. No guarantee of outcome
Nothing on the Platform is a promise or prediction about the outcome of any legal matter. Legal outcomes depend on facts, evidence and the law as applied by the courts.
9. Intellectual property
The MoCase name, logo, design, text and other content on the Platform are owned by MoCase or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced or used without our prior written permission.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Mauritian law, MoCase shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, opportunity, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the Platform or your engagement of any legal professional introduced through it.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the Platform available and accurate, but we provide it “as is” and do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time.
12. Privacy
Our handling of your personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date, and your continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Mauritius, and the courts of Mauritius shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
